Join The Revolution!

Red Theater Lincoln is doing a (wet hot american) SUMMER SHOW!

But to do it, we're gonna need a few amazing people to add to our cast while half of us take off for our summer reprieve.

Hence, AUDITIONS! Our lovely ladies Sydney Ray and Emily Martinez have been appointed our casting directors. Here's the official notice, shamelessly ripped from the Omaha notice, which was shamelessly ripped from previous Lincoln notices:

What Do I Need To Bring?
an ORIGINAL performance written by YOU.
it can have props, perform a monologue, be interactive, physical, musical, whatever.
what makes you "you"? what's important to you?
in a positive, funny, tragic, or beautiful way?
it doesn't have to be epic.
you can perform about ANYTHING.
as long as YOU wrote it.
we are not looking for awesome actors but rather awesome PEOPLE.

How?
Auditions will be held on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Where?
Nu Vibe Downtown (126 N. 14th Street, next to Open Market)

When?
Saturday May 22nd
7 - 10 pm

What to do for the audition?
Please prepare a one minute original audition focusing on the personal and theatrical.

When is the next show?
Auditionees will be accepted into Red Theater for all future performances, but availability for our next performance on July 16th is a must.

What if I can't make this audition?
Please contact us at sydneyray@gmail.com or emartinez26@live.com to see about other arrangements.

Hey Omahans. Omahams? People of Omaha.

Surely you are all itching to see our new show Wednesday night, and frankly I can't blame you. I can, however, suggest a mild calamine lotion that would take care of that. The itchiness, not the frantic need to be at The Bourbon Theatre at 8:30PM with a ticket or $5 in hand.

But once tomorrow night passes with its usual ephemeral grace, you may discover a new disease has taken root. Symptoms include a strong desire to revive the theatre as a means of community expression, writing in freeform metaphors about the effects of The Power Rangers on America's late nineties' class struggles, or the intense urge to stand motionless on stage in a gorilla suit.

We can help you with that.

Red Theater is coming to Omaha!

The first of several planned expansions into new markets, Red Theater Omaha is holding auditions for their inaugural August 14th show! Heading up the auditions are RT: Omaha's artistic director Jeremy Short and managing director Sara Tangdall, a former RT: Lincoln member. The details:

Founders/Directors to Speak at Wesleyan

Hey random passersby!

Tomorrow, Tuesday, May 4th, 1PM at the Elder Lab Theatre on the Wesleyan University campus, 51st and Huntington, Red Theater founders Aaron Sawyer and Theron Seckington, current Red Theater co-artistic director Gage Wallace, and future Red Theater Omaha artistic director Jeremy Short have been invited to speak to any and all (FOR FREE!) about what we're trying to do with this whole Red Theater thing as well as creating some pieces on site!

You don't have to be a Wesleyan student, or at least we don't think so, and even if you did we would still encourage you to crash this awesome happening tomorrow to get a little pre-show taste of what's going down on Wednesday, May 5th at 8:30PM at the Bourbon Theatre on 1415 O St.!

All Together Now!
